JOB – Design Engineer

LOCATION – East Sussex

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £27,000 – £34,000 per annum
 
My client work within design and manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the East Sussex area.

The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar
Ideally 1-2 years’ experience or more in the industry or placement experience may also be considered working in a similar Design Engineer position
Proficiency with CAD software - ideally SolidWorks but are open to others
Any experience using rendering software like Keyshot would be advantageous but not essential
Have good technical/ engineering knowledge and experience
Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Have excellent communication skills
Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and furniture/ timber design would be beneficial
Time management skillsThe Design Engineer role will involve:

Working within the engineering and product development teams on projects
Modelling parts using SolidWorks CAD software and using Keyshot
Developing new concepts
Taking these concepts to finished products
Producing design proposals and engineered solutions to match the brief
