Anderson Knight are currently partnering with a well-established accountancy practice in Motherwell to recruit a skilled and reliable Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in bookkeeping who is looking to develop their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the day-to-day bookkeeping for a variety of clients
* Preparation of VAT returns and ensuring compliance with VAT legislation
* Processing invoices, expenses, and payments
* Reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger
* Assisting with management accounts preparation
* Maintaining accurate financial records and updating accounting software
* Liaising with clients to provide updates and address queries
* Supporting the senior accountants with month-end and year-end processes
* Ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy in all tasks
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice or similar environment
* Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage preferred)
* Strong understanding of VAT and tax compliance
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable, but not essential
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
