This company is a respected Leicester-based law firm with a strong criminal defence practice, is looking to recruit a Criminal Law Solicitor (1+ PQE) — someone who is either a qualified Duty Solicitor or currently working towards Duty qualification.

The Role
You’ll be involved in all aspects of criminal defence, from police station representation through to advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court. The firm offers a varied and interesting caseload covering everything from minor offences to serious, complex matters.
Your duties will include:
* Advising and representing clients at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts.
* Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision and support.
* Preparing cases for trial, liaising with counsel, witnesses, and experts.
* Providing clear, empathetic advice to clients throughout proceedings.
* Participating in the firm’s out-of-hours duty rota (if qualified).
About You
You’ll be a qualified solicitor with at least 1 year’s PQE and a genuine passion for criminal law.
You may already be a Duty Solicitor or currently working towards accreditation — the firm is open to both.
You’ll also bring:
* Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
* Strong client care and time management abilities.
* A proactive and resilient attitude, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
* A full UK driving licence (preferred due to the nature of the work).
