Motor Vehicle Workshop Instructor
Stoke-on-Trent / Crewe | Starting Salary: £30,000+ | Full-time | 20.8% teacher's pension
Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Mechanic ready to pass on your skills to the next generation?
We're working with a leading college in Stoke / Crewe that has recently invested heavily in its state-of-the-art automotive workshops, offering training in both Light and Heavy Vehicle disciplines. They are now looking for a passionate professional to join their team as a Workshop Instructor.
About the Role
As a Workshop Instructor, you'll deliver practical sessions to students on a range of motor vehicle programmes up to Level 3. You'll:
Deliver high-quality hands-on instruction in motor vehicle maintenance & repair
Supervise and support learners in workshop activities
Maintain accurate records and assist with assessments
Ensure all health & safety standards are upheld
Support departmental events such as open days and enrolment
Help maintain tools, equipment, and workshop spaces to industry standards
Contribute to curriculum development and innovation with your industry experience
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Service or Maintenance
Have proven hands-on mechanical experience
Be confident across a range of areas such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrics, and tractor technology
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Bring patience and the ability to support apprentices' development
Be passionate about inspiring the next generation of automotive professionals
Teaching qualifications are advantageous but not essential - full training is provided
