Experienced Teaching Assistant (KS4) – Full-Time
Location: SEND College
Start Date: September
Salary: £90–£95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Are you a skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Key Stage 4 learners as they navigate some of the most important years of their education?
We are seeking an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive SEND college this September. This is a full-time, term-time only position supporting a KS4 class, offering a rewarding opportunity to work with students aged 14–16 as they continue to access key National Curriculum subjects and prepare for adulthood.
The Role:
In this varied and fulfilling role, you will provide classroom-based and pastoral support to students with a range of SEND needs. You will assist in delivering a personalised and structured timetable that includes Maths, English, and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), helping each student to engage, progress, and achieve to their full potential.
Your support will also extend to weekly PE sessions, where students develop practical skills in gymnastics, games, and athletics. Some learners access our on-site hydrotherapy pool as part of their individual physiotherapy programmes, and you will work closely with the therapy team to facilitate their participation and wellbeing.
In addition, you will be involved in Citizenship sessions, where learners are encouraged to reflect on their identity, values, and future aspirations – an essential part of their personal development.
About You:
We’re looking for candidates who bring experience, resilience, and a genuine passion for inclusive education. You should have:
Prior experience supporting students with SEND in an educational setting
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young people
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
A flexible and team-oriented mindset
A willingness to engage with physical activities, including swimming and PE, when required
Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate) and training in areas such as Team Teach or safeguarding are desirable.
Why Join Us?
You’ll become part of a dedicated team working in a supportive and forward-thinking college environment, where your contribution is genuinely valued. Professional development is encouraged and supported, and no two days are the same.
If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can have a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.
