Job Opportunity: Homes for Ukraine - Visiting Officer (Housing)

Hours: 35 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP
Hybrid Working: Office attendance required 3 days per week
Rate: £21.20 per hour (Umbrella)
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Visiting Officer to support the Homes for Ukraine scheme, a vital programme helping Ukrainian refugees find safety and stability in the UK.
This is a highly rewarding outreach-based role that involves visiting sponsor households, assessing property suitability, supporting both hosts and guests through their journey, and ensuring the smooth delivery of all required checks, payments, and follow-up care.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out property checks to ensure sponsor homes meet housing standards
Check and record necessary documents, including identity and tenancy verification for DBS processing
Conduct welfare visits before and after guest arrivals and issue payment vouchers
Maintain accurate and confidential records of visits, queries, and financial transactions
Identify and report safeguarding concerns
Provide ongoing advice and support to sponsors and guests throughout their placement
Liaise with voluntary organisations and represent the scheme at community events
Work closely with colleagues and maintain compliance with government and local procedures
What We're Looking For:
Experience in housing, social care, or a community-based outreach role
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage sensitive situations with care
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and data protection compliance
Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends if needed
