Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant in Eastleigh, Hampshire!
Are you passionate about helping young people with special educational needs (SEN) succeed in school and life?
GSL Education are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team at a secondary school in Eastleigh. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary of £19,500 to £21,000 per year, depending on your experience. The role starts ASAP or from September 2025, and there’s a great chance to grow your career and move up the pay scale as you gain more experience.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Speech and Language Needs in the school’s resource base. These students have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and need extra support to thrive in their learning.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), your role will include:
Supporting Students: Give personalised help to students in the resource base.
Helping in Class: Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities.
One-on-One Support: Work closely with individual students to help them overcome learning challenges.
Being Flexible: Adapt to the needs of students and the school environment.
Training Provided: GSL Education offers training to help you build the skills you need for SEN support.
What We’re Looking in SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experienced or Willing to Learn: You may have worked in a similar role before, or you may come from a care background with experience supporting children with SEN or physical disabilities.
Organised and Detail-Oriented: You can manage tasks well and pay attention to details.
A Good Communicator: You can build strong relationships with students and staff.
Reliable and Punctual: You show up on time and can work independently.
Qualified (a plus): Any relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN are a bonus.
