We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join a thriving and well-supported Science faculty at a high-performing secondary school in Taunton, Somerset. This is a full-time, permanent teaching position starting in September 2025. Applications from both experienced Chemistry Teachers and ECTs are warmly welcomed.

About the Science Department
Science is a flagship department within the school, with subject-specialist teachers delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons in modern laboratories. About the Role
The successful Chemistry Teacher will:
• Teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 available based on experience).
• Plan and deliver practical, engaging lessons that promote scientific thinking and discovery.
• Support students in achieving strong outcomes in their GCSEs and A-Levels.
• Contribute to the development of the Chemistry curriculum, assessments, and schemes of work.
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide effective feedback.
• Participate in wider school life, including STEM clubs and academic competitions.

Experience and Qualifications
• A degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• QTS or PGCE in Secondary Science.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
• An approachable and reflective attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Salary
Salary will be in line with national pay scales – MPS/UPS, depending on experience.
