Job Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor 

Area: Maidstone

Salary: £70k – £80k + Car Allowance

Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor within the housing development sector to join their team, the office is based on the outskirts if Maidstone and sites are based over Kent.  

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for taking full commercial ownership of projects, including cost planning, forecasting, and the preparation of detailed cost reports

Responsibility

Manage all aspects of subcontracting, from procurement and negotiation to final accounts

Proactively manage and control project costs, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities

Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle

Provide guidance and support to junior members of the quantity surveying team, fostering their professional development

Prepare and present regular, accurate commercial reports to senior management

Prepare, negotiate, and agree on final accounts with subcontractors in a timely manner

Establish, maintain and develop relationships with the supply chain

Assist to keep the standard house build costs up to date.

Position Requirements

Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field

Worked within the housing development sector

Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Reporting skills

Proficiency in Cost Planning

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
