Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a proactive and supportive Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in secondary schools across North Yorkshire.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school setting. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate considering a career in education, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and confidence.

The Role

You will support students aged 11-16 in and out of the classroom, helping them stay engaged, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential. You'll work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide targeted support and promote positive behaviour and learning.

Requirements

Experience working with students aged 11-16

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable, enthusiastic, and confident supporting secondary students

Experience in education, youth work, or care settings is desirable

A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

A genuine passion for education
