Procurement Manager – High‑Growth Manufacturing | Leadership Role | UK & European Supply Base

A fast‑scaling manufacturing group—partnering with major global brands across electrical appliances, cosmetics, food and beverage—is seeking a high‑calibre Procurement Manager to lead its estimating and purchasing function. This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of commercial performance, supplier strategy, and operational excellence.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of the full cost‑estimation and procurement cycle, ensuring the business delivers accurate quotations, competitive material costs, and resilient supply chains. Leading a capable team, you’ll shape pricing strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, and provide the data‑driven insights that guide senior decision‑making.

This role suits someone with strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of manufacturing operations, and a proven ability to lead people and processes in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the estimating function, producing detailed and accurate estimates.

Build and maintain pricing models aligned with market benchmarks and commercial strategy.

Oversee procurement of raw materials, outsourced services, and production supplies.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure best value across cost, quality, and service.

Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and material availability across the UK and Europe.

Deliver weekly and monthly reporting on production costs, estimate accuracy, material consumption, and procurement KPIs.

Present cost‑performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Coach, support, and develop team members—setting objectives, reviewing performance, and identifying training needs.

Stay informed on emerging materials, sustainable alternatives, and industry innovations.

Requirements

Strong background in procurement, estimating, or commercial operations within manufacturing.

Confident negotiator with a track record of securing value and building supplier relationships.

Skilled in data analysis, cost modelling, and presenting insights to leadership.

Experience managing and developing a team.

Technically minded, commercially sharp, and comfortable working in a high‑growth, fast‑moving environment.

Knowledge of printed packaging or materials supply chains is advantageous.
