Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer - Colchester - Up to £63,000

A leading electronics engineering company is seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to lead complex development projects, designing and testing advanced hardware systems.

What You'll Do:

Define product specifications with Product Management

Lead the design of digital, analogue, and RF hardware using Altium Designer

Perform component selection, simulation, and testing

Debug and validate hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers)

Collaborate with mechanical/software teams for integration

Manage the full development lifecycle from concept to production

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support

Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Proven experience as a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer

Expertise in Altium Designer, schematic capture, and PCB layout

Strong knowledge of RF, high-speed signal design, EMI/EMC, and power management

Confident using lab tools for debugging and validation

Experience working in cross-functional teams

Knowledge of FPGA design (VHDL, Verilog) or microcontroller systems is a plus
