If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a vibrant primary school in Tewkesbury as a Student Support Assistant.

This welcoming school is seeking a compassionate and adaptable individual to support students across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that children with challenging behaviour and SEND receive the tailored support they need to succeed academically and personally.

Academics Ltd are looking for someone who has experience or a strong willingness to work with children who require additional support, including those with behavioural challenges. Your role will involve providing 1:1 or small group assistance, working closely with both students and staff to create a supportive, nurturing learning environment.

Role Details:

Student Support Assistant
Location: Tewkesbury
Mainstream Primary School
ASAP start
Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only)
Clear DBS: Required (or willingness to apply)Key Responsibilities:

Support children with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and foster a calm, productive classroom environment.
Assist with classroom activities, helping students engage with the curriculum at their own pace.
Help manage and de-escalate behavioural challenges in a positive and constructive way.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure the needs of each child are met.
Provide supervision during lessons, outdoor play, and other activities.We are looking for a candidate who is patient, flexible, and proactive in supporting children with a range of needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Experience in similar roles or in SEND settings is highly beneficial, but we are also open to applicants who demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to professional development.
