Our client, a large manufacturer of products for the construction industry, now requires a Design Technician to work from their busy North East facility. 
 
The Role
 
You will bridge intended design with the manufacturability and execution of the solution.
Perform CAD and basic steel detailing tasks.
Carry out modifications to existing designs
Understand manufacturing constraints and assist with determining manufacturing feasibility.
Manage your assigned workload with multiple projects running concurrently
Liaise with structural and design engineers to ensure the information produced represents the intended engineering design.
Participate in design reviews, site meetings, and technical discussions to gain experience
Provide support to sales and estimation roles
Produce general arrangement drawings, section details, and connection designs.
Utilize AutoCAD, Inventor, Tekla Structures, TEDDS, and Microsoft 365 for task execution/

The Person
 
Diploma in related subject such as design, engineering or manufacturing.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, SolidWorks
Understanding of design, engineering and manufacturing processes
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills, capable of handling concurrent projects.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information to non-technical stakeholders
