We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with a physical disability in a primary school in Blackburn. This full-time supply role will start in September 2025 and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational experience.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the child to provide tailored support, enabling them to access the curriculum fully and participate confidently in school life. You will support both academic learning and personal care needs, ensuring the pupil’s safety, inclusion, and well-being throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one support to a Year 3 pupil with physical disabilities
Assisting with mobility, communication, and access to learning resources
Supporting personal care routines sensitively and respectfully
Encouraging independence and social interaction with peers
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents
Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with physical disabilities and/or SEN
Patience, empathy, and a caring approach
Ability to follow care plans and adapt support according to the child’s needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Flexibility and reliability for a full-time role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
