Mechanical or Electrical Shift Engineer

Central London | Days & Nights | Up to £49,000 + Package

Level 3 Qualified | Office & Retail Environment

A leading facilities management service provider is looking to appoint an experienced Shift Engineer (mechanical or electrical bias) to join a prestigious site in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team responsible for maintaining essential building systems across a high-profile, technically demanding office and retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and fault diagnostics across all M&E systems on site.
Maintaining and repairing systems including HVAC, LV distribution, UPS, generators, chilled water, and pumps.
Managing and supervising subcontractors, including permit control and RAMS compliance.
Ensuring plant faults are quickly remedied and that the site remains fully operational at all times.
Complying with site statutory and H&S requirements, including issuing permits to work and locking off systems as required.
Maintaining a clean, safe working environment in all plant areas.
Keeping maintenance records updated on the site CAFM system (e.g., Maximo).
Driving continuous improvement across operations and reporting/escalating non-compliances.

What You’ll Need:

Level 3 qualification in a relevant mechanical or electrical discipline (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
Strong knowledge of critical systems such as UPS, generators, LV systems, and HVAC.
Demonstrable experience working in a commercial or critical environment, ideally on a shift basis.
A solid understanding of statutory compliance, safe systems of work, and best practices in facilities maintenance.
Good communication, a proactive mindset, and a professional approach to client interaction.
Shift Pattern:

Combination of 4 on 4 off (rotating days & nights) and 6 on 4 off.
Package:

Up to £49,000 basic salary + overtime opportunities + benefits
