Our client is a company in the UK providing road, Sea & Air logistics solutions across the UK, Europe & Worldwide and is part of a larger Group based in Denmark.

Position – Assistant Management Accountant

Location - Felixstowe, Suffolk

Overview of the role!

Reporting to and responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in completing management accounts to trial balance including group reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

* Review of Xsped/ Cargowise job profitability with forwarders and prepare system for closedown each month

* Preparing supplier payment runs and dealing with supplier queries

* Supplier account reconciliation's

* Managing the interface between Xsped/Cargowise and the financial system BC365

* Coding Overhead invoices in Medius

* Review of overheads preparing accruals and prepayments as required

* Enter daily bank transactions completing a daily bank reconciliation

* Prepare intercompany schedules for group reporting ensuring all balances are agreed in line with group policy

* Prepare and post fixed asset transactions

* Revaluation of foreign transactions (debtors/creditors and bank accounts)

* Calculation of bad debt provision

* Preparation of management accounts for review by Financial Controller and Managing director

* EC sales and VAT returns and other statutory returns as required

* Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts

* Supporting the Financial Controller with the audit process

* Assisting with Audit for both Entities

* Any other duties relating to Month End/Quarter End & Year End

Role requirements

* Previous experience of working in a busy finance team

* Good communicator both written and oral

* Intermediate excel skills

* Ideally studying for an accountancy qualification AAT, ACCA, CIMA
