Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN (Farnborough)
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Immediate or September start
A welcoming and supportive specialist primary school in Farnborough is seeking a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This setting caters exclusively for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils aged 4–11 can thrive both academically and personally.
The school is purpose-built to meet the complex needs of its pupils, offering small class sizes, a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and access to specialist resources. Pupils benefit from a consistent, calm, and predictable approach that supports communication, sensory regulation, and emotional development.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and well-being of pupils with a range of SEN and ASC diagnoses. Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the teacher with leading class activities and interventions
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Assisting with personal care and emotional regulation when necessary
Encouraging independence and developing positive relationships
Supporting pupils’ communication and social development in line with individual education plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be confident, proactive, and resilient
Have experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or ASC
Show a calm and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
Be a team player with strong communication skills
Demonstrate a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs
Essential Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one at own cost)
Right to work in the UK
References covering the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
