We are currently seeking a dedicated Sales and Purchase Ledger Clerk to cover a 12-month maternity leave. Role Overview:

This is a 12-month maternity cover position that will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both sales and purchase ledgers, working across multiple currencies and companies, and maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Ledger Duties:

* Process contractor invoices accurately using Xero.

* Manage internal administrative tasks related to purchase ledger operations.

* Communicate regularly with contractors and internal teams to resolve invoice queries.

* Handle intercompany billing ensuring accurate coding and reconciliation.

* Ensure all purchase ledger tasks are completed within deadlines for reporting cycles.

Sales Ledger Duties:

* Prepare and issue client invoices in multiple currencies, ensuring they align with contracts and project deliverables.

* Manage intercompany invoicing, ensuring all transactions are reconciled correctly.

* Communicate with internal teams to resolve any billing discrepancies or concerns.

* Ensure a high level of attention to detail to prevent billing errors and delays.

* Support the finance team with month-end closing and reporting tasks.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience in a purchase ledger or sales ledger role (preferably in a finance function).

* Proficiency in using Xero (or similar accounting software).

* Comfortable handling multi-currency transactions and intercompany invoicing.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors and internal departments.

* Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to meet strict deadlines.

* Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
