We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Tutor / Employment Support Coach to support offenders in custody to develop essential skills that improve employability and successful resettlement into the community.
 
You will deliver and support learning in areas such as: 
Employment Skills 
Functional Skills 
Basic Activities & Lifestyle Skills 
 
The role is central to helping learners build confidence, gain practical qualifications, and prepare for work upon release.
 
This position involves working within a prison education setting in partnership with custodial staff and education providers to create a safe, motivating, and structured learning environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and accessible lessons in group & 1 to 1 sessions, covering following topics: 
Basic English (literacy, reading, writing, communication)
Basic Maths (numeracy, functional maths)
Practical cookery and food hygiene skills
Assess individual learning needs and create tailored support plans.
Support learners in gaining accredited qualifications where applicable.
Provide one-to-one employment coaching, including:
CV writing and job applications
Interview preparation
Identifying transferable skills
Goal setting and action planning
Promote employability skills such as teamwork, timekeeping, communication, and problem-solving.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in line with prison and education provider requirements.
Work collaboratively with prison staff, resettlement teams, and external partners.
Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to safeguarding, security, and equality policies at all times. Essential:  
Experience delivering training, tutoring, or employment support.
Knowledge of basic English and maths delivery (Functional Skills or equivalent).
Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged groups.
Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
Ability to manage behaviour positively and professionally.
Good administrative and record-keeping skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries. Desirable:

Teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent).
Experience working within a prison or criminal justice setting.
Qualification or vocational experience in catering/cookery.
Knowledge of employability frameworks and resettlement pathways. Salary- £(phone number removed)
