Application Packaging & Deployment Engineer - £50,000 – £60,000 (pro rata) - 6-Month FTC (likely extension) – UK Security Clearance required – IT Managed Services Firm
Our client, a leading IT Managed Services Provider, is seeking an experienced Application Packaging & Deployment Engineer to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant application packaging and deployment solutions for enterprise customers. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong expertise in SCCM, Intune, and scripting.
Role and Responsibilities
Create and maintain application packages using AdminStudio, InstallShield, and PowerShell.
Repackage legacy applications for modern deployment platforms (e.g., Intune, MSIX).
Deploy applications using SCCM and Intune, ensuring correct targeting and licensing compliance.
Maintain deployment collections, boundary groups, and distribution points.
Troubleshoot deployment failures and remediate issues in pre-production and production environments.
Raise change requests and attend CAB meetings.
Maintain accurate documentation for packaging and deployment processes.
Collaborate with application owners, service desk, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and validate deployments.Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in application packaging (MSI, MSIX, App-V).
Strong knowledge of SCCM for application deployment, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch).
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows 10/11 environments.
Experience with Intune, Autopilot, and Conditional Access (desirable).
Background in enterprise environments (utilities sector experience advantageous).Package
