Senior Engineer (x2) / Engineer (x1) – Highway Structures

Our client is looking to appoint two Senior Engineers and one Engineer to strengthen their highway structures team in Boreham. These roles will support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects including bridge refurbishments, retaining wall design, and structural replacements.

Common Responsibilities:

Design and assess highway structures in reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel
Plan, programme, and deliver structural works and services
Undertake structural calculations using software such as LUSAS and manual methods
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and Health & Safety policies
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery
Mentor junior staff and review technical outputs
Support budgetary governance and contract specification developmentSenior Engineer Specific Responsibilities:

Lead technical decision-making and ensure design quality across multiple projects
Provide expert advice to elected members, public bodies, and community stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement in design standards and engineering practices 
Candidate Requirements
Essential for All Roles:

Proven design expertise using Eurocodes, DMRB, and MCHW
Strong understanding of Highway Legislation and structural design procedures
Familiarity with Health & Safety and CDM regulations
Experience with budget management and project coordinationSenior Engineer Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and mentoring
Ability to advise on strategic design decisions and policy compliance
