The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Principal Waste Consultant to take the lead on high-profile nuclear waste consultancy projects. Based in Warrington, with flexible hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 from home), this is your chance to play a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most vital industries.
As a Principal Waste Consultant, you’ll be at the forefront of nuclear decommissioning and waste strategy, delivering expert solutions that support a safer, more sustainable future. You’ll:

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Provide specialist advice and lead the technical delivery of waste and decommissioning projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients
Guide and develop technical staff, with line management responsibilities
Support strategic bids and business development in line with consultancy growth goals
Ensure all outputs meet environmental permitting, regulatory, and stakeholder standards
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Proven experience in nuclear waste management, including strategic planning and project delivery
A strong background in leading technical teams and mentoring junior consultants
Expertise in decommissioning, disposability assessments, or integrated waste strategy
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
