Team Manager - Recovery and Wellbeing
Location: Brighton
Salary: £33,951 per year (£27,528 pro rata)
Hours: 30 per week, over a minimum of 4 days
What you’ll be doing:Southdown is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Sussex. Our Recovery and Wellbeing Colleges provide an innovative approach to mental health services, using an educational model to support people to become experts in self-management and their recovery. All college courses are co-produced and co-delivered by peer tutors who have their own experience of mental health challenges, alongside mental health professionals.
As the team manager, this role offers an exciting and creative opportunity to work in a very busy college environment, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of services to meet students’ needs and aspirations. You’ll be responsible for the day to day operation of the colleges, working alongside the service manager, peer tutors, students and Southdown and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust staff.
If you are passionate about mental health, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome applications from candidates with previous experience such as Peer Tutor, Peer Trainer, Mental Health Specialist, Mental Health Practitioner or Service Coordinator. However, this is not essential and full training will be provided.

Knowledge, skills and experience
What you’ll need for the role:
You’ll need experience working in recovery focused mental health services or in an educational setting.
You have excellent organisational, networking and communication skills.
You are passionate about mental health. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health challenges.
A Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown.

Experience supporting clients experiencing mental health challenges, including those in crisis and/or facing complex challenges Training:You’ll receive a comprehensive induction followed up with regular training from our award winning in house team.
