The Opportunity

Pertemps are proud to be working with a well-established building services contractor who require a Fire Alarm Design Engineer to support a live project in Sunderland. This is a site-based/Hybrid position offering the chance to take full responsibility for the design and technical delivery of fire alarm and detection systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate design drawings, performing calculations, and ensuring compliance across all stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Design and review fire alarm and detection systems
Prepare and update “As Built” documentation and design records.
Complete Advanced MxPro5 loop and power calculations.
Deliver all design work using BIM, CAD, and VESDA Aspire software.
Carry out onsite checks to ensure installation accuracy and system compliance.
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure smooth project progression.

What We’re Looking For

Strong background in fire alarm and detection design.
Practical knowledge of VESDA, Revit, CAD, and relevant standards.
Confident working independently in a site-based environment.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Further Details

Hours: 50 per week- flexible working times
Contract: 1 month, with the option to extend
Rate: Up to £400 per day (dependent on experience)
