Night Operations Manager – Hygiene (Food Manufacturing)

We are recruiting for an experienced Night Operations Manager – Hygiene to join a leading chilled food manufacturing business in Tamworth.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving hygiene standards across a high-volume, fast-paced production site supplying major UK retailers and foodservice customers.

The Role

Reporting into senior site leadership, you will take full ownership of hygiene operations across nights, with accountability across 7-day site activity.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and managing hygiene operations across production and distribution areas

*

Delivering KPI targets including microbiological results, water usage, titration checks and cleaning schedules

*

Ensuring audit readiness and successful internal & external audit outcomes

*

Driving continuous improvement in hygiene standards and processes

*

Managing, developing and motivating hygiene teams

*

Handling HR matters including absence, performance and investigations

*

Acting as responsible lead for site evacuation during night shift (fire or ammonia)

This is a hands-on operational leadership role requiring strong floor presence and the ability to lead from the front.

About You

You will be an experienced hygiene or sanitation leader within chilled food manufacturing.

Essential experience:

CIEH Level 3 (or equivalent) Food Manufacturing Hygiene qualification

*

Proven hygiene management experience within chilled food production

*

Strong understanding of Hygiene Management Systems and COSHH

*

Experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment

*

Strong knowledge of food industry cleaning standards and methodology

*

Proactive leadership style with high standards and accountability
