I'm currently recruiting for a well established law firm based in Basingstoke who is recruiting for Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to join their fast paced and supportive team, this position is a 9 - 12 month maternity cover and will be supporting The Head of Department (Litigation) and the Associate Solicitor – Employment. Daily duties will include -
* Providing secretarial assistance to fee earners, to enable them to work efficiently. This includes a wide range of tasks, in particular;
* preparing documents and correspondence, including preparing mail and enclosures.
* typing letters and other legal documents (utilising dictation software)
* photocopying and filing;
* opening and closing matter files;
* handling telephone and other queries from clients and others including taking initial enquiries.
* taking telephone messages; and
* making appointments and managing diaries.
* General support for other Departments when necessary (eg in the event of sickness, absence on holiday cover or pressure of work)
* Post cover where necessary
* Liaising with Office Administrator regarding photocopying requirements and, where necessary (ie due to absence or workload of Office Junior) to carry out photocopying
* Working in tandem with other staff in the Department
* Reception cover where necessary
* Any other duties as reasonably directed by the Directors
