A growing main contractor delivering new build and refurbishment projects across the hotel and student accommodation sectors is looking to appoint a Design Manager to support its expanding project pipeline.
 
They have multiple London schemes underway and secured work moving into the next phase of delivery.
 
This role sits within the project delivery team and focuses on coordinating design from pre-construction through to completion on live sites.
 
The Business

Established contractor delivering new build and refurbishment projects across hospitality and residential sectors
• Strong pipeline of hotel and PBSA developments across London
• Projects typically include RC frame mid-rise developments and complex urban refurbishments
• Stable leadership team with repeat developer clients
• Delivery-focused culture where project teams take ownership of schemes 
The Role

Full design coordination responsibility on hotel and student accommodation developments
• Managing consultant teams and subcontractor design packages
• Driving design coordination from pre-construction through construction phases
• Chairing design team meetings and resolving technical issues
• Ensuring buildability, programme alignment and technical compliance
• Working closely with Project Managers and commercial teams throughout delivery 
Projects include schemes such as:

714-unit mixed-use student accommodation and residential development in North London
• 100-room apart-hotel redevelopment in West London 
These are mid-rise urban schemes combining residential, hospitality and commercial elements, requiring strong coordination between consultant teams and site delivery.
 
What they’re looking for

Design Manager from a main contractor or specialist contractor background
• Experience on new build or refurbishment construction projects
• Comfortable managing consultant teams and technical coordination
• Strong understanding of design risk and buildability
• Proactive and solutions-driven approach to project delivery
• Someone comfortable working closely with site teams on live projects
