We are seeking a proactive and motivated PSA Senior Consultant to join our growing nuclear business, shape our delivery approach, and directly impact the safety and sustainability of future energy and defence programmes.

Salary Range: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Location: Hybrid/Remote with time split between client sites, the office, and home (Bristol area).

? Your Role: Leading PSA and Risk-Informed Safety (Key Duties)
You will be responsible for providing high-quality, high-value consultancy that helps clients navigate complex safety challenges and meet rigorous regulatory standards.
PSA Model Development: Lead the development and maintenance of sophisticated Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) models for nuclear facilities.
Leadership & Mentoring: Direct, lead, and mentor PSA work delivered by junior staff members and contractors, fostering technical excellence.
Risk-Informed Arguments: Utilise PSA techniques to develop robust, risk-informed safety arguments supporting design, commissioning, operational safety, and design change.
Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with regulators as necessary, providing expert technical justification and support for safety case submissions.
Safety Assurance: Perform independent safety assurance reviews and support the delivery of periodic safety reviews for nuclear systems and facilities.
Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients and partner organisations to manage ongoing PSA model implementation and develop effective safety cases and risk management plans.
✅ Requirements: What You'll Bring
We seek an individual with a strong foundation in nuclear safety regulation and practical PSA application.
Technical Education: Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a related technical discipline.
PSA Expertise: Strong practical experience with established PSA tools, such as Reliability Workbench and RiskSpectrum.
Nuclear Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of Nuclear Authorising Conditions and/or Licensing Conditions is essential.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability and willingness to lead, develop, and mentor junior colleagues.
Consultancy Focus: Strong customer focus and the ability to develop commercially astute strategies for securing new work.
Security & Nationality: Due to the nature of the work, you must be a sole UK national and be able to satisfy criteria for UK National Security Vetting (SC and/or DV clearance is highly desirable).
