Control Engineer Overview
We are seeking a Controls / PLC Engineer to develop, debug and maintain control programs for new and existing machinery. The role involves creating reliable, high-quality software, supporting machine commissioning and troubleshooting, and working closely with Electrical Design Engineers to ensure all control system requirements are met.
The Control Engineer role will involve:
Writing and debugging PLC programs
Developing and improving HMI screens
Supporting machine build, testing and commissioning
Troubleshooting control system faults
Working with Electrical Engineers on sensors, drives and safety systems
Ensuring software is safe, reliable and properly documented
The Control Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong PLC programming experience
Must have some experience with Omron PLC
Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of drives, servos and control systems
