An award-winning law firm based in Richmond is seeking an ambitious Associate to join their specialist Private Wealth team. This firm, ranked in Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500, is known for supporting career progression and offering a human-first approach to law. The successful Associate will be joining a Tier 1 ranked Private Wealth department that advises individuals with assets ranging from £5M to £20M. The team regularly handles a broad mix of private client matters, including estate planning, Wills, trusts, tax planning, and probate. You'll be working alongside highly respected experts in the field, with the opportunity to grow your skills, contribute to team development, and make a lasting impact.
The Associate's role
Managing a varied caseload independently, including:
Wills
Lasting Powers of Attorney
Estate administration
Trust creation and administration
Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning
Supporting clients through sensitive transitions with empathy and professionalism
Building long-term, trusted relationships with high-net-worth individuals
Assisting in the training and development of junior solicitors and trainees
Participating in marketing and business development initiatives to promote the Private Wealth team's profile in Richmond and the wider region
The Associate will ideally be:
Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 4-7 years of private client experience
Strong understanding of Private Wealth matters including trusts, estate planning, and probate
STEP qualification or working towards (desirable)
Excellent client care and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach
Interest in supporting team growth and external business development
