Associate Clinical Psychologist – Autism & ADHD Assessments Rate: £260 per assessment
Contract: Self-employed, outside IR35
Working pattern: Flexible, Monday–Sunday
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Clinical Psychologists to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for clinicians who share strong professional values of trust, integrity, commitment and kindness, and who are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments.
About the Role As an Associate Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD assessments for children, young people and adults, working within NICE-compliant frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive ASD developmental histories using NICE guideline–compliant tools and approaches for children and adults.
Delivering ADHD assessments across child, young person and adult populations.
Undertaking ADOS assessments where ADOS-2 trained (desirable).
Assessing children and young people aged 3–18 years and adults aged 18+.
Observing and engaging clients during assessment sessions, ensuring an age-appropriate, respectful and compassionate approach.
Reviewing ADOS reports, developmental histories and relevant collateral information from families, schools and other informants within the same assessment episode.
Formulating diagnostic conclusions and providing clear, compassionate feedback, including recommendations and signposting to local and national support services.
Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) within planned clinics and where additional information is required, including offering follow-up sessions when necessary.
Producing high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours of assessment, in line with DSM-5 criteria and agreed report templates (administrative support provided for formatting and quality assurance).
Requesting onward referrals where clinically indicated, in line with local NHS Trust and ICB pathways.
Clinics & Working Arrangements
Up to four assessments per day, paid on a per-assessment basis.
£260 per assessment, self-employed and outside IR35.
Remote and/or face-to-face assessment opportunities available, depending on location.
Flexible working days available Monday to Sunday, enabling you to work around existing commitments.
Access to free CPD opportunities, training and peer-to-peer support.
What We’re Looking For
HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist.
Demonstrable expertise and confidence in ASD and ADHD assessments for children, young people and/or adults.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Conners, ADI-R, DIVA-5, CAARS and QBTest.
A clinician who consistently demonstrates trust, integrity, commitment and kindness.
A strong commitment to clinical excellence and best practice.
A specialist interest in neurodiversity.
