Director - Energy DCOs
Location: London (hybrid working available from offices across the UK)
Salary: £90,000+ plus benefits
We are recruiting for a Director with expertise in Energy DCOs to join a forward-thinking, purpose-led infrastructure and environmental consultancy. This role sits within the Infrastructure Projects and Programmes Division and offers the opportunity to shape sector strategy, lead a portfolio of high-impact projects, and manage a team of consultants. For the right individual, there is also potential to step into a Business Unit Lead position.
The Opportunity
You will lead the delivery of Development Consent Order (DCO) projects and associated planning and consenting work, primarily in the energy sector. This includes involvement across the full project lifecycle-from strategy and pursuit to execution and client engagement. You will contribute to long-term business planning, oversee financial performance, and help define sector growth areas.
This role requires proven senior leadership experience, particularly in the delivery of energy infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of EIA, planning processes, and regulatory frameworks is essential, and experience in sectors such as water, coastal, or wider infrastructure is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a portfolio of energy infrastructure projects, particularly DCOs
Contribute to and drive infrastructure strategy and business planning
Build and maintain client relationships, developing new business opportunities
Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction
Manage financial performance, including forecasting, revenue growth, and reporting
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and line management to consultants
Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and internal systems
Represent the business externally, including at industry events and within frameworks
Promote professional development within the team and foster a high-performance cultureRequirements
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Chartered professional status (or working towards it)
15+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in energy DCOs and EIA
Track record of business development and client relationship management
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Experience leading teams and developing people
