This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team of a leading business in the Fresh Produce sector. You will play a key role in supporting site operations by ensuring machinery, equipment, and facilities are well maintained, safe, and operating efficiently.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out preventative maintenance, promptly responding to breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will work closely with colleagues across operations, production, and external contractors to support continuous improvement and site performance.
Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities
* Plan, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance and statutory inspections on machinery, equipment, and building systems
* Respond efficiently to breakdowns, minimising downtime through effective repairs
* Monitor equipment and machinery performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance schedules, and asset registers
* Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely, with appropriate risk assessments and method statements
* Support site upkeep, including general building maintenance, ripening rooms, fire and alarm systems
* Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth maintenance operations
* Assist in maintaining hygiene and safety standards across the site
Maintenance Engineer Key Requirements
* Experience in maintenance or engineering roles, within food manufacturing or fresh produce sectors
* Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with a hands-on, proactive approach
* Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and best practices
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Willingness to work shifts and complete relevant training (e.g., First Aid, FLT, Electrical Safety)
* Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills
Shift; 4 on - 4 off, 7am - 7pm
