We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor operating across Yorkshire.

Our client delivers high-quality, cost-effective solutions across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. With a strong regional reputation built on precision, reliability, and customer satisfaction, they have a solid pipeline of secured work and require an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing schemes.

The Role

Commercial management of groundworks and civils packages
Subcontract procurement and management
Applications for payment and valuations
Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and forecasting
Variations and change management
Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial control
Assisting with final accounts

Requirements

Proven experience as a QS within groundworks or civil engineering
Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial developments
Good contractual knowledge (JCT / NEC beneficial)
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Able to work independently and hit the ground running
