Performance based bonusRole Overview The Charctered Building Surveyor will work as part of a growing team under the guidance of the Building Surveying Directors, delivering core surveying and project services primarily within the residential and commercial sectors. This role suits a proactive and motivated professional who is keen to apply their technical expertise across a diverse range of surveying disciplines while developing and maintaining strong client relationships. With the role being fully remote, the role requires an experienced building surveyor who can manage their own director and is motivated to become a director level building surveyor in the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
Providing professional advice on building defects across a wide range of property types and ages
Preparing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) reports, associated budget costs, and advising clients on maintenance strategies
Reviewing pre-construction information and overseeing RAMS reviews for managed projects and service installations
Acting as Project Manager and/or Contract Administrator on projects typically ranging from £50k to £3m+, working independently or leading professional teams depending on project complexity
Acting as Principal Designer where required, including preparation of pre-construction information, review of construction phase plans, and compilation of health and safety files
Completing pre-acquisition surveys across commercial, retail, industrial, and residential properties
Carrying out building height surveys and structural appraisals to support Building Safety Reports in line with the Building Safety Act 2022
Preparing Schedules of Dilapidations, negotiating claims, and providing advice to landlords and tenants
Providing Party Wall advice to building owners and adjoining owners (desirable but not essential)
Monitoring development and project works on behalf of landlords, funders, and other stakeholders
Supporting wider business initiatives including business development, service improvement, CPD activities, training, and mentoring junior surveyors and APC candidates
