We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee and manage mechanical works on a National Grid substation project. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a proven track record working on high-voltage substations within the National Grid framework.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise all mechanical installations and activities on-site, ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and project specifications.

Coordinate and manage subcontractors and direct labour on a daily basis.
*
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to.
*
Monitor project progress, provide reports, and support planning and scheduling activities.
*
Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of works.
*
Conduct inspections and quality checks of mechanical works and documentation.
*
Support commissioning and handover processes.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience working on National Grid projects – essential.
*
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems within high-voltage substations.
*
SSSTS or SMSTS certification preferred.
*
Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
*
Familiarity with National Grid’s TP137/TP144 procedures (advantageous).
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
*
Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence
