You will be joining the Environment Division-a market-leading Tier 1 contractor in the UK water sector-with a national presence and a diverse portfolio of work including water and wastewater treatment projects, infrastructure upgrades, and complex environmental schemes.
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of projects on the Northumbrian Water Frameworks, covering both clean and wastewater treatment facilities.
Working closely with the Senior Site Manager, you will oversee and coordinate site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of engineering works. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of site operations within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering works across water and wastewater treatment sites.
Lead and coordinate daily site operations to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Ensure documentation-including Method Statements, Risk Assessments and testing records-is accurate and complete.
Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery and logistics.
Monitor progress, support cost control and contribute to project progress reporting.
About You
To thrive in this position, you will bring previous experience within the water or wastewater sector, ideally with a background in active construction environments.
You should also have:
An industry-relevant ONC, City & Guilds or NVQ qualification.
Site-based experience on infrastructure or water-related projects.
SMSTS, IOSH or CITB 5-Day Site Safety certification.
A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR accreditation.
Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
The ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
