About the Role:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with a range of complex learning, behavioural, and communication needs. You’ll play a key part in helping each young person reach their full potential through patience, creativity, and consistency.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing 1:1 support for students with additional or complex needs

Supporting students in developing communication, emotional regulation, and social skills

Assisting in the delivery of engaging lessons and structured learning activities

Promoting a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Preparing resources and supporting small-group or individual interventions

Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver consistent support

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, residential, or care setting)

A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

Confidence in following individual support and learning plans

Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

Team player with initiative and reliability
