Food Technologist (Part-Time)

Hours: 20 hours per week (2-3 days)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 pro rata (£33.65 - £38.46 per hour) DOE
Office Location: Reigate

Remote/Hybrid working available

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join a dynamic and collaborative team within a well-established food business. This part-time position is perfect for someone with relevant experience who is looking to further develop their career in food safety, technical compliance, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Support compliance and audit readiness for annual BRC accreditation
Maintain and update the HACCP plan (HACCP qualification desirable)
Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Manage food safety and technical documentation, including non-conformance follow-up, supplier approvals, and NPD records
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical compliance and support occasional site visits
Manage customer requirements and participate in audits (some international travel may be required)
Maintain internal systems and web-based platforms for reporting and documentation
Oversee the customer complaints process

Requirements:

A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related discipline
Solid understanding of BRC standards, food safety, quality management, and food processing
Proactive and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
