Are you confident navigating the nuances between PLCs, Safety Systems, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)? Have you led or supported the commissioning or modification of DCS or ESD systems, been hands-on in the design process, and tackled real-world safety logic?
An established automation & controls leader is seeking a Systems Engineer with multi-discipline control experience to work across full project life cycles—from system design to site acceptance. You'll be working on high-integrity systems for process-critical environments across the UK and offshore.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Commissioning and modifying DCS and ESD systems across industrial automation projects
*
Participating in and influencing the system design process, including SIL classification and safety lifecycle documentation
*
Programming logic solvers and developing SIFs based on cause & effect matrices
*
Working with OPC servers/clients, including platform-specific implementation
*
Integrating HART and other plant management protocols
*
Programming and configuring Cisco network switches
*
Building and imaging PCs and servers for control system deployment
*
Supporting internal and site-based testing: FAT/SAT, installations, handovers
We’re Looking For Someone With:
*
Experience delivering DCS, ESD, or safety-critical control systems
*
Practical knowledge of PLC vs. DCS vs. Safety Systems
*
Involvement in control design processes and producing engineering documentation
*
Exposure to HART, Modbus, OPC DA/UA, or similar protocols
*
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking gear and IT hardware builds
*
Proficiency using imaging tools for control system deployments
*
Offshore or secure-site experience (desirable, not essential)
*
Minimum HNC in engineering discipline
Package & Perks:

Salary: £40,000–£49,000 depending on experience
*
Car Allowance: £6,180 minimum
*
Pension: Up to 12.5% employer contribution (age-banded)

OT: Sat @ 1.5x | Sun/PH @ 2x | TOIL option
*
Paid uplifts: 10% travel >2 weeks/month | 20% offshore | 30% secure sites | 10% nights
