About the Role
Our client, a long-established and growing company based in Erith, is seeking an Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function. This is a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager with strategic decision-making while overseeing all aspects of financial operations, reporting, compliance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all financial activities including bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and ad hoc reports.
* Payroll entry, VAT returns, and year-end audit preparation.
* Oversee AP/AR, purchasing, cash flow, and payment approvals.
* Work closely with senior management to support business planning and performance analysis.
* Drive improvements in ERP/finance systems and automate financial processes.
* Monitor credit risk, manage working capital, and support contract negotiations.
Requirements
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3+ in accounting or professional qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
* Experience: Minimum 4 years in a similar finance role; experience in SMEs or manufacturing/engineering is a plus.
* Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of UK tax and accounting standards, Sage 50, and ERP systems.
* Soft Skills: Proactive, detail-oriented and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
