️ Cutting Operative

Location: Poynton Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Rotating Shifts (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00) Department: Production / Cutting Operations Industry: Heavy Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CNC laser cutting machinery to produce precision-cut metal components

Read and interpret technical drawings and process work orders accurately

Conduct routine equipment checks and basic maintenance

Meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards

Work collaboratively with team members in cutting and fabrication areas

Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols

Accurately complete shift records and materials usage logs

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in laser cutting or sheet metal operations

Comfortable working with heavy materials in an industrial setting

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Familiarity with CNC processes; basic programming knowledge is a plus

Reliable, punctual, and motivated to work rotating shifts

FLT licence or overhead crane experience is advantageous

Pre-Employment Process:

Candidates will undergo a practical assessment using basic hand tools and a tape measure

A phone interview will assess experience, availability, and motivation for the role
