Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual passionate about supporting young people's well-being and development? Our inclusive secondary school in Blackpool is seeking a highly motivated Child Residential Support Worker to join our team, starting in September 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a school setting that may have a residential provision or provide extended support for students, enabling you to make a profound difference to their lives beyond the classroom. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home-like environment, promoting positive outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing direct care, support, and supervision to students within the residential setting (if applicable) or extended school hours.
Assisting with students' daily routines, personal care (where required), and social development.
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
Building strong, trusting relationships with students, understanding their individual needs, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Encouraging engagement in activities, homework, and community participation.
Maintaining clear and accurate records and contributing to care plans.
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
Ensuring the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all students in line with school policies and statutory requirements.We are looking for a Child Residential Support Worker who:

Has a genuine commitment to the welfare and development of young people.
Possesses excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Is patient, empathetic, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
Can work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential, care, or educational setting (this can be paid or voluntary experience).
A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or Youth Work (e.g., Level 2/3 Diploma in Residential Childcare) is desirable but not essential; we value demonstrable experience and the right attitude above all else.
