We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Food Teacher to provide one-day cover at a welcoming secondary school in Gateshead. Your New Role

As a Cover Food Teacher, you will step into a supportive teaching environment for a single day, delivering pre-planned lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and/or 4. Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering engaging and structured food technology lessons
Managing the classroom effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
Supporting students with practical cooking tasks and safety procedures
Following the school's policies and safeguarding procedures
Providing feedback on student progress where appropriate
What You'll Need to Succeed

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A flexible and professional approach to short-term cover
Awareness of health, safety, and hygiene in a food classroom
