New Product Development Assistant – Food Manufacturing

The Company

Our client is a rapidly growing food manufacturing business trading in the UK and overseas. The successful applicant will be joining a small, committed, and hard-working team in a fun, relaxed and innovative working atmosphere.

The Role

Reporting to NPD Manage, the ideal candidate will be passionate about the food industry and willing to go the extra mile to create innovative and functional products.

Key responsibilities include:

* Assisting with product development projects, including idea creation, ingredient testing and sample making.

* Set up and run internal tasting sessions

* Liaising with customers and suppliers to arrange samples and new ingredients

* Maintaining and updating pack copy sheets

* Assisting with artwork approvals and checks

* Assist with product testing including shelf-life organoleptic testing of NPD samples, benchmarking against existing and competitor products

* ‘Blue sky’ thinking for new concepts and recipe testing

* Oversee machine trials and document accordingly.

* Provide cover for members of the product team during absence

* Other Ad hoc tasks to support the product department.

Essential

* Food Development degree or similar

* Good attention to detail

* Proficient in the use of IT programmes such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

* Highly organised

* Proactive

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Positive cando attitude

Desirable

* Experience working in the food industry in similar role

* Experience and knowledge into sport nutrition and wellness industry

Working hours: Hours: 37.5 hrs per week plus 30 min break
