About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a small, supportive SEN secondary unit in Brentwood. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.
You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The role involves both 1:1 and small group support, helping students to access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to students with SEN in and out of the classroom
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment
Build strong, supportive relationships with students and staffThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
