Hours:  Option to work your hours either over 5 or 4 days i.e. Monday-Thursday (condensed) or Monday to Friday

Opportunity to join a talented team within a leading design, development and manufacturing organisation as a Supplier Quality Engineer.

This is a varied, highly autonomous, customer-facing Supplier Quality Engineer’s role which necessitates strong engineering and commercial acumen. 

With a proven background in Quality or Production Engineering within a manufacturing environment, and prior Supplier Development experience working with suppliers to improve performance, you will have responsibility for:

Acting as key point of contact for Quality Assurance with suppliers
Supplier Development - The development, monitoring and reporting of supplier performance metrics and initiating improvement plans when appropriate
Root Cause Analysis
Provide support and assistance to suppliers in development and execution of corrective actions
Driving continuous improvement activities with suppliers, engineering and production
Working with suppliers to develop the use of appropriate quality tools
Administration, ownership and management of supplier nonconformance reports, from creation to closure, including verification and closure of corrective actions 

To succeed in this interesting, supplier-facing quality engineering / supplier development role:

It is likely that you will either have a quality engineering or production engineering / manufacturing engineering background with an HNC/D qualification (or apprentice trained) in an engineering discipline plus:

Experience in Supplier Development / Supplier Quality role
Knowledge of a range of quality standards (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100) 
A mechanical / electro-mechanical engineering background as the suppliers you will be working with will range from machined parts to electrical harnesses.
