Design Engineer

Birmingham

£35-40k (Bonus, Private health insurance etc)

My client are a leading design and manufacturer within the automotive sector who have experienced year on year growth. Due to this growth they are looking to add a Design Engineer to their 30 man multi discipline design team. The company are very focused on people development, so a big part of the role would be learning and continual self development as an Engineer. Having traded succesfully for a number of years, they have almost 7 years average service from employees and even continued to grow throughout the pandemic a few years ago. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow within a company whilst working on bespoke, industry leading vehicles.

On a day to day basis the Design Engineer will be:-

Managing up keep of Engineering change tracker

*

Component and Metalwork design

*

Technical drawings

*

Support the production team with design changes

*

Problem solving

*

Standardisation of designs across product families

*

BOM maintenance

The Design Engineer will ideally have:-

*

Engineering or Product Design degree desirable

*

Minimum of HNC/Level 4 in general Engineering

*

Must have 2 years + experience in a similar role

*

Experience of using Solidworks preferred

*

Sheet metal design experience essential

*

Experience of hydraulics/pneumatics desirable
