Maintenance Engineer

We are working with a client based on the outskirts of Norwich who are looking to grow their engineering team. The successful candidate will have previous experience in maintenance engineering in a factory/fabrication or FMCG environment

Working Hours: Rotating shifts Monday - Friday 6am-2pm and 2.15pm - 10.15pm

Job Purpose:
Carrying out day-to-day maintenance activities for both Planned and Reactive Maintenance, ensure downtime is kept to a minimum, in line or exceeding departmental KPI’s. Deliver the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule carrying out PPM’s. Request parts as required. Work with Production team to improve TPM/FLM of machinery to assist improving uptime and throughout.

Drive internal efficiency improvements and effectiveness off PPM work to improve MTTF and reduce downtime, drive completion of improvement plans and KPI’s, whilst working in line with H&S best practice and Environmental requirements. Help create a continuous improvement culture of identifying areas of improvement.

Key Duties:
· Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring that there is always a rapid response, and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised.
· Implement the day to day Planned Maintenance Schedule ensuring access and cleanliness of the machine by production is adhered to and report non-conformances.
· Root cause dysfunctional machinery to get to bottom of issues to prevent rolling problems.
· Ensure machine is producing a quality product repeatedly and achieving KPI’s and if not creating plans to achieve KPI’s.
· Operate within agreed company Policies & Procedures.
· Ensure high standards of work and professionalism are demonstrated daily.
· Work with cross-functional teams towards improving production methods and ways of working to increase throughout.
· Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment by operating within Company systems, policies, procedures.
· Demonstrate our company vision and values.

Key Capabilities:

· Time served electro-mechanical maintenance engineer with great fault-finding abilities to find root causes of breakdowns quickly as well as performing crucial PPM work around the sites.
· Ability to demonstrate the drive and determination to help take forward the maintenance dept with a positive, can-do attitude.
· Ability to both Teamwork and work alone on own initiative crucial to the success of the team.

Essential Experience:

· Extensive plant level experience.
· Technical capability and understanding
· Significant experience, ideally qualified with a mechanical / electrical discipline.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

· Experience of the PVC or aluminium window industry is highly desirable.
· Knowledge of the machinery manufacturers such as such as: Urban, Haffner, Emmegi, Elumatec, Stuga, Rotox and Hollinger would be advantageous.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office / Auto CAD
· IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH, ISO 9001 / ISO 14001
· Understanding of lean manufacturing.
· Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
